Meghan Stapleton – the Woman behind “The” Woman

Meghan Stapleton is the brightest star in the Sarah Palin camp – just shy of the woman she stands behind and loyally supports. Although technically she has “retired” from the official Sarah Palin entourage, it is a certainty that she has never been very far away.  Once the official spokesperson for the governor of Alaska, she is featured prominently in the major successes that Sarah Palin enjoyed in her service to that state. On page 139 of Sarah Palin’s first book Going Rogue she states:

Meg Stapleton was well known from her years as a political reporter and news anchor at our local NBC affiliate.  She had national political experience from her days on Capitol Hill with the Republican National Committee and her work for GOP power-broker Fred Malek, as well as corporate experience with an Alaska-based telecommunications company…

And on page 149 of Going Rogue, Sarah Palin speaks of the power of this alliance:

It was late June 2007, just after the solstice, and we worked late into the night with the warm midnight sun still pouring through my office windows.  My chief of staff and our budget director were there.  Meg (who was nine month pregnant and ready to meet her first baby at any moment), Kris, and another budget staffer sat with me around my conference table.  Pens in hand, we combed through the budget, line by line, page by page — my inner nerd coming out again, just like Wasilla City Council Days.

Sounds like a duo of Mama Grizzlies,  as Palin describes:

They’ll do more than just growl about our challenges because they know how to work hard and protect America’s future by ushering a new era of prosperity and security. How? By proving their selfless service, common sense, and respect for the will of the people.

Today, Meg Stapleton once again publicly gave proof of her allegiance to her former boss and forever friend in a Sarah Palin Facebook post:  The Cost of Legal Warfare – A Few Words About Today’s Defense Fund Agreement.  Stapleton completes the guest post with a signature of self-reflection: “Meghan Stapleton, Mom, Wife, and Now More Knowledgeable Than Ever About Legal Defense Funds“.

There is much scuttlebutt on the blogosphere about who might be penning words for Sarah Palin.  I always trust that every word belongs to Sarah Palin.  There is also much applause being heard for the new brand of feminism that currently nurtures our great country. We haven’t heard the last from Meg Stapleton.
